Polar Express Ride - 2012!

So Savannah has a slight obsession with the Polar Express movie... and when I say slight, I really mean extreme!  I'm not sure there's a limit to the number of times she could watch it.  So when Chris and I learned that Blue Ridge Scenic Railway has a Santa train - we knew we had to go!

Needless to say, Savannah was excited!  This is her "choo-choo!" face:)

Merrick enjoyed watching things out the windows as we passed by.  It was a pretty and mostly scenic route - a lot of trees, streams and fields.

They had story time on the train and Savannah really enjoyed it - and her new-found friends!  The story was about Santa and the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway!

Merrick hung out with Pappy while Savannah listened to the story.

 And then what to my wondering eyes should appear - but Santa and his Christmas bells!  Any of you who have seen Polar Express will surely know the significance of the Christmas bell.  This was a totally unexpected surprise - and it made Savannah's year!!!

And where would Santa be without Mrs. Claus, of course?

We thought the ride was well worth it, and we hope to do this again next year!  Glad to have this so close to home!
